Sparow (passer domesticus)

The sparrow can be a serious pest when it enters food and other manufacturing units, warehousing or loading areas. It must be controlled in the interests of hygiene in these areas.

The house-sparrow is a familiar sight in both urban and rural areas, about 14.5cms long with a short heavy bill, the male has brown wings streaked with black, a white wing bar and a grey rump. The female and young are duller brown and lack the grey rump, crown and wing bar.
