Enserve Professional Riggers
Safety nets are used to prevent injury to personnel falling from high level working platforms on construction sites, and also to provide protection from falling objects. When correctly installed and maintained, these nets provide excellent, reliable protection and saves lives. It is therefore essential to ensure that safety nets are installed and maintained only by trained professionals.
The potential fall height must always be kept to a minimum, and it is therefore essential that the net should be installed as close as possible to the working level.
Safety nets deform when people or objects land in them. They must therefore be installed in such a way that a person falling into the net will not impact on anything positioned below the net.
These horizontal rigged safety nets provide effective accident protection as recommended (or even required) by local Health & Safety authorities. They are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of European Standards EN 1263-1. Compliance with this standard has been confirmed by testing in independent, approved laborities.
Safety nets are designed to prevent or arrest the fall of any workers who lose their footing while working at heights, and are commonly used in the following situations:
- Building, construction and rigging projects in a warehouse, factory and bridge construction, where protection is required over a large area below the working level ( eg. roofing, metal decking, etc ).
- Refurbishment of existing roofs to complement the protection provided by scaffolding, and rigging of power lines and line crossings.
- Fall arrest systems for scaffolding
Reliability
Our safety nets, when correctly rigged, provide effective primary protection as recommended by the local Health & Safety Authorities. They comply with EN 1263 part 1 and should be rigged by trained and competent riggers within the positioning limits of EN 1263 part 2.
Our safety nets are made from high strength multi-filament polypropylene (PPM). We use the most up to date manufacturers to create them from high-tensile, UV-stabilised yarns. They maintain a very high breaking strength and consistent quality over many years of use.
Annual Testing
Every safety net must be labelled with the name of the manufacturer or importer and also the year and month of manufacture. To maintain compliance with the European Standard, it must be subjected to annual testing to monitor UV degradation. To test the net, simply remove one of the UV test cords that are clipped into the net and send it to the manufacturer or a recognised material testing institute, to measure the breaking strength of the cord. The annual test is clearly indicated on the label attatched to the net.
Alternatively, send your test cord to us and we will be happy to arrange the testing procedure.
